Obituary of Robert Norman Harris

Scottsburg- Robert N. Harris age 85, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon December 26, 2017, at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris.

He was born in Scottsburg, on August 4, 1932, a son of the late Ronald and Lena (Crotser) Harris. On August 19, 1967, he was married to Virginia Mesler Harris, who predeceased him on August 10, 1913.

He was a US Marine Corps veteran serving during the Korea Conflict from 1951 to 1954. Bob was a stationary Engineer at the former Craig Colony in Sonyea for many years. An avid outdoorsman Bob enjoyed hunting out West in Idaho, Montana, in NY he enjoyed upland bird hunting and whitetail deer hunting. He was a member of the Scott Grove Hunting Club for many years. His most enjoyable times in life were spent with Ginny in the fifth wheel traveling. Or patiently waiting in the car for Ginny to get her hair done.

He is survived by his daughter Nancy (Dana) Herring of Scottsburg, a son Robert B. Harris, his friend and brother John (Beverly) Harris of Groveland, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A graveside Military service will be held at a date and time to be announced by the Hindle Funeral Home Inc. 271 Main St. Dansville, NY 14437. Online remembrances may be left at HindeFuneralHome.com. He is now coming home to Scottsburg where he wanted to be for a very long time.
