Sparta- Gerald Lee Gilman age 76, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday July 7, 2022, while on vacation with his family in South Carolina. He was born in Buffalo on September 8, 1945, a son of the late Raymond and Marion (Campbell, Stevens) Gilman. On July 1, 1978, he was married to Patricia Harriet (Gilbert) Gilman who predeceased him in 2019. He was also predeceased by his brother Ramon Jansen Gilman, and his stepfather William Jay Stevens. Gerald worked at Eastman Kodak in Rochester as a supervisor in the photochemical department for many years. He was a regular at Sparta Center United Methodist church. Jerry will be known for his attention to detail, especially when it came to his house or his love of older cars. He had a 1967 Corvette Coupe that he loved to work on. He enjoyed growing flowers and watching the birds. His family was very important to him, and he always loved going on beach vacations with them. He is survived by his children, Keeley M. Chevrier, Lee G. Gilman, Jeffrey Scott Gilman, his sister, Patricia Ann Stevens Verbjar, his brother, Dr. Jack E. Gilman, several nieces, and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday July 13, 2022, form 3:00 pm to 6:00pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St. Dansville. Funeral services will be held the next day 11:00am at the Sparta Center United Methodist Church. Interment to follow with his wife Patricia in Kiehle Cemetery Sparta, Dansville.
