Obituary of Richard Norman Brown

Dansville- Richard N. Brown age 89, went to be with the Lord late Tuesday evening October 18, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Alexandria Bay on August 7, 1933, a son of the late Elmer and Rose (Evans) Brown. He was predeceased by his siblings Beverly Lowrey, Rosemary Schirmer and Rodney Brown. On July 31, 1954, he was married to Luella (Coombs) Brown, who survives. Richard was a devoted Christian and longtime member of the former Dansville Assembly of God Church, the Dansville Free Methodist, and current member of the Dalton Assembly of God Church. He was a retired First-Class Utility Foreman at the former Foster Wheeler Energy Corp in Dansville after 40 years of service. In his younger years Richard worked on the family dairy farm in West Sparta. Surviving in addition to his dear wife of 68 years Luella, are five daughters, Debbie Brown, Elaine (Richard) Rawleigh, Joyce (Stephen) Pfuntner, Vicki (Gerald) Cartwright, and Karen Bratcher, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, a brother Ralph (Lois) Brown and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday November 6, 2022, at the Dalton Assembly of God Church. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc, 271 Main St., Dansville.
