Obituary of Vernon R. Lent

He was born in Scottsburg on April 10, 1915, a son of the late Harry and Mary (Old) Lent. He was also predeceased by a son William Lent in 2006 and a brother Wilbur Lent. On June 7, 1937, he was married to Catherine Williamson Lent, who survives. Vernon graduated from Dansville High School in 1933. Vernon and Catherine owned and operated Lent Dodge Inc., in Dansville for many years retiring in 1979. He was a past President of the Dansville Rotary Club, a former member of the Phoenix Lodge # 115 of the F&AM and the Dansville Lions Club. They enjoyed twenty two years of retirement in Florida before returning to Dansville several years ago. Surviving in addition to his dear wife of seventy-one years, Catherine, is a son, Richard Dick (Carol) Lent of PennYan, a daughter in-law, Helen Lent of Dansville, four grandchildren, Janice (Robert) Infantino, Patricia Lent, Robert (Jeanine) Lent and David Lent, and a great-granddaughter Alyssa Infantino. Two sisters, Lillian (Alex) Alexandris of FL, and Rachel Neff of Corning, several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday from 3-5 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville, where services will be held at the completion of calling hours with the Rev. James Stevens officiating. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dansville Ambulance Fund, PO Box 235, Dansville, NY 14437.
