Obituary of Carmita Shattuck

She was born in Bath, NY on October 29, 1929, a daughter of the late Scott and Doris (Reed) Loper. On November 7, 1946, she was married to Charles T. Shattuck, who predeceased her on May 3, 1996. She was also predeceased by a brother Stewart Loper.Scotty was the Town Clerk for the Town of Ossian for many years. She was a member of the Ossian Ladies Aide. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and had also helped milk cows on the dairy farm in Ossian. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Knapp of Ossian, a son, Cris Shattuck of Oregon. Two grandsons, Aaron (Michelle) Knapp of Ossian and Brian (Stephanie) Knapp of Avon, five great-grandchildren, Brynn, Conner, Isaac, Griffin and Gabriella Knapp. A brother Forest Loper of FL, a sister, Betty (Warren) Severence of Bath, several nieces and nephews. There will be no prior calling hours. A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday August 15, 2009, at Ossian Center Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville.
