Obituary of Richard Gordon Hawkins

Dansville- Richard G. Hawkins age 69, of Dansville, passed away Tuesday afternoon August 18, 2009, at home following a long illness.He was born in Gowanda, NY on July 31, 1940, a son of the late Gordon and Joanne Wojchizan Hawkins. He was predeceased by a brother Ernest Hawkins. Richard was a painter in Florida for many years. He was a graduate of the University of Buffalo with a degree in business. He was a volunteer at the Dansville Community Food Pantry and loved to read and fish.He is survived by his children, Gordon, and Michael Hawkins of FL, Dawn (Ray) Story of Virginia, a sister Margaret (Charles) Holbrook, of Dansville, with whom he resided, a brother, Donald Hawkins of SC, and a sister Mary (Merle) Burger of Little Valley. Four grandchildren five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.There will be no calling hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Gowanda.
