Dansville- unexpectedly on 10/27/09 at age 96. Entrepreneur and founder of Shay's Service's Inc of Dansville. Widower of Margaret Bacon Shay. Father of Jon H. (Linda) Shay of Dansville, Mimi (Al) Burdick of East Aurora, Katherine (David) Carlson of Grand Island, and Tim (Deborah) Shay of Williamsville, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Also survived by his companion Suzanne Elliott of Rochester. Predeceased by siblings, Clarence Shay, Helen Shay and Ruth Thompson. Calling Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00pm and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. A memorial service will be held Saturday (Oct.31) at 11:00am in the Dansville Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville.
