Obituary of Richard F. Farrell

Dansville- Richard F. Farrell age 67, passed away Thursday evening April 22, 2010, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was born in Dansville on December 24, 1942, a son of the late Fletcher and Helen (Murphy) Farrell. He was also predeceased by a son, Brian Farrell, his mother and father in-law, George and Doris Gordon, and a brother in-law, George Gordon. Richard was a laborer at the former Foster Wheeler Energy Corp. in Dansville, where he also had worked as a welder and machine operator. He had also worked for a time at Lakeland Concrete Company in Lima. He was a communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. He was a member of the IAM Local # 1665 at Foster Wheeler, the Loyal Order of the Moose # 1130 of Dansville. He enjoyed collecting coins and supporting his football team the Buffalo Bills. Richard is survived by his wife Joanne Gordon Farrell of Canaseraga. A son Brett Farrell of Henrietta. Brothers and sisters; William (Judy) Farrell, Keith (Linda) Farrell, Bonnie Anderson, Deanna (Stanley) Mastin, Carol (Ray) Johantgen all of Dansville and Linda (Al) Sutton of NC. Brothers and sisters in-law, Sue (Lance) Shay, Theresa (Daniel) Carpenter and Philip (Tammy) Gordon all of Canaseraga, many nieces and nephews and freinds at the Henrietta McDonalds. No prior calling. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday May 1, 2010 at 10:00am in St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, West Sparta. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dialysis Unit or the family.
