Obituary of Mildred Howe

She was born in Cohocton, on July 21, 1921, a daughter of the late Leon and Flora Newman Tripp. She was also predeceased by her husband James Howe on July 27, 1987, and a brother Mitchell Tripp. Millie was a member of the Dansville United Methodist Church, where she was active with the United Methodist Women, a former Sunday School Teacher, and Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of the Priscilla Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and was the Grand Representative to Utah. She was a volunteer at Noyes memorial Hospital in Dansville and the American Red Cross Blood Mobile. She is survived by two sons; Jerry Howe and James (Donna) Howe both of Dansville; a sister, Evelyn Fisher of Rochester; five grandchildren, Sharon (Matt) Reynolds, Margaret (Chad) Foster, William (Nickie) Howe, Andrew and Jessica Howe, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. Services will be held Tuesday at 11:00am at the Dansville United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Stevens officiating. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville. An Eastern Star memorial service will be held Monday at 6:45pm at the funeral home.
