Rebecca Hutchinson posted a condolence
On behalf of all of Lydia's friends and the staff of 5 S/W, we want her family to know that she will be greatly missed. She was a very sweet lady we all grew to love, and we thank you for sharing her with us. We will miss her. Though her Dementia progressed during her time spent at the Jewish Home, Lydia always enjoyed holding hands with whomever had a warm hand to offer. She was content sitting and talking to anyone while holding their hand. One day I found her holding the hand of another gentlemen, who also is a resident on the unit. When he saw me looking at him holding her hand he said "she likes it when I hold her hand". I just smiled and said, "you are right, she does like that". Lydia often would call out her childrens names. She also seemed to like find comfort in taking her shoes off, and it was not uncommon to find her shoes in various places on the unit. More than one of the staff had told me that Lydia was a favorite to them, but all enjoyed her sweet disposition. It was a pleasure to have gotten to know Lydia and to have her be a part of our unit family. May you all find comfort in the memories you have of her during her younger and healthier years. Thankyou all again for sharing her with us.
