Obituary of Florence Burr

She was born in Dalton, NY on April 21, 1922, a daughter of the late Arthur and Ruby (Everingham) Truax. On September 21, 1940, she was married to Leon W. Burr, who predeceased her on May 22, 1998. She was also predeceased by a granddaughter, Dawn Burr, and siblings, Dorothy, Jessie, Maynard and Donald Truax, Hazel Rawlings, Edith Rawleigh and Viola Blowers. Florence was a longtime faithful member of the Dansville United Methodist Church. She loved her family dearly and cherished the many times they would gather together for family functions. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Debbi) Burr of Sparta and Thomas (Sharon) Burr of West Sparta; grandchildren, Ricki (Pat) Wensel, Jackie (Jeff) Drain, Brian Burr, Ryan (Tracy) Burr, Christine Wensel, Lisa Spiak, Brian (Phyllis) Applin; great-grandchildren, Patrick and Ian Wensel, Stephanie (Peter) Wensel, Jordan (Meghan) Jaeger, Andrew, Katie, Cody, and Ayesha Burr, Christina and Kenny Burr, Amanda Seaton, Kirstyn, Katelyn and Bryce Applin, Molly Share and Caroline Wensel, great-great grandchildren, Adrian and Michelle Burr and Shayli Cleveland. Siblings, Evelyn Anderson of Washington State, Betty (Dick) Howe of Dansville, Violet Sleight and Joyce Truax both of Swain, Jack Truax and Bill (Shirley) Truax both of Dalton. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Friends may call Wednesday from 3:00 to 7:00pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St., Dansville. A memorial services will be held Thursday at 2:00pm at the Dansville United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Dalton. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
