Obituary of Robert L. Jaus

Sparta- Robert L. "Bob" Jaus age 82, passed away peacefully at home early Saturday evening November 24, 2012, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Rochester on February 3, 1930, a son of the late Robert and Gladys (Moore) Jaus. On May 17, 1952, he was married to the former Shirley Hymens Jaus who survives. Bob was a Monroe County Sheriff's Deputy for twenty-years and then moved to Livingston County where he served twenty-years as a Livingston County Sheriff's Deputy. He had also worked for Expressway Auto Auction recovering and transporting vehicles. He was a member of the Livingston County Deputy Sheriff's Association. Bob was a US Army veteran serving from 1947 to 1950. Surviving in addition to his dear wife Shirley, are two sons; Rick Jaus of Phelps, Robert (Karen) Jaus of Chili, two daughters; Debbie (Mike) Hagan of Sparta and Barbara (Guy) Burke of Albion; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St., Dansville, where a memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. David Hotchkiss officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Scottsburg. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
