Obituary of William Schleyer

Dansville- William G. "Bill" Schleyer at age 71, passed away Sunday morning December 16, 2012. He was born in Sacramento, CA on July 11, 1941, a son of the late John and Ella Jones Schleyer. On February 13, 1966, he was married to Jacqueline Brundu Schleyer, who predeceased him on November 15, 1999. Bill was a graduate of Dansville Central School in 1959 he was a US Navy veteran serving from 1960 to 1964. He worked as an x-ray technician at Foster Wheeler Energy Corp. for thirty five years. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose # 1130, the Union Hose Company Reserves of the Dansville Fire Department, the Frank Cabot Post # 6780 of the VFW and the Daniel Goho Post # 87 of the American Legion. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed playing golf, the Saturday afternoon tours with his friends and was a loyal New York Yankees fan. He is survived by a daughter, Kelly (Lee) Green of Dansville, a son, John (Julie) Schleyer of Glenwood, NY two sisters, Pat (David) Sahrle of Conesus, Grealdine Schleyer, a brother, Bob (Karen) Schleyer of Dansville, his father in-law, Salvatore Brundu, three grandchildren, Carli Green, Jack and Danny Schleyer, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
