Obituary of Albert L. Edwards

Dansville- Albert "Al" Edwards age 88, passed away early Friday morning December 28, 2012, at the Steuben Healthcare Facility in Bath where he had been a resident for the past few days. He was born in Dansville on March 19, 1924, a son of the late Albert and Mabel (Caim) Edwards. He was also predeceased by a son in-law Ray Fenti and a grandson Tyler Bertelson. On July 12, 1947, he was married to Jean (Watt) Edwards who survives, whom he visited nearly everyday at the nursing home in Bath. Al was a US Army WW II veteran serving from 1941 to 1945. He was a member of the Daniel Goho Post # 87 of the American Legion, the Foster Wheeler Bowling League and the Twenty Five year club. In his earlier years he enjoyed Hunting, Bowling and the men's softball league. He was retired from the former Foster Wheeler Energy Corp., in Dansville where he was a welder for over 43 years. He also worked after retirement for many years at the Expressway Auto Auction and Carl Wilcox Auctioneers. Surviving in addition to his wife Jean are, two daughters, Kaye Fenti Manchester, NJ and Robin Edwards of Winchester, VA., a brother Harold "Red" (Geraldine) Edwards of Dansville, two grandchildren, Rhonda (Walter) Bertelson and Amy (Robert) Lanks, a great grandson, Ryan Bertelson and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Saturday (January 5) from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville.
