Obituary of Verna Jean Moore

Dansville- Verna Jean Moore, age 76, passed away Sunday morning May 20, 2012, at home following an extended illness. She was born in South Dansville on March 22, 1936, a daughter of the late Elmer and Millie (Clark) Jacobs. She was also predeceased by a brother James Jacobs. Verna was a member of the Dansville United Methodist Church. She worked at the former F.A. Owen Publishing Company in Dansville for a number of years until her children were born. She was the office receptionist for Redding Chiropractic Associates for twenty-seven years until her retirement. She loved taking trips with her friends but most of all she loved spending time being a mother and grandmother. Verna and her great-granddaughter Caitlyn shared a special bond in gardening, on nice days you could always find them tending to her flower gardens. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Dan Rauber) Kuhn, of Dansville and her son, Steve (Tami) Moore of Sparta; two grandchildren, Tina (Michelle) Young of Dansville, Robert Burley of Fayetteville, NC and her great-granddaughters Caitlyn and keesha. Verna is also survived by her dear friend Robert Moore of Cohocton. Friends may call Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., in Dansville, where services will be held Wednesday at 11:00am. Interment will be in Rogersville Forest Lawn Cemetery, South Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
