I remember Don as a coach, a guidance counselor, and a very friendly neighbor, and always with a smile and a wave. Peace be with you, Don. Condolences to the family.

Oh, Daddy, I miss you so much!! It's hard to fight the tears that threaten to come, but I'm trying. I miss your laugh and laughing with you...you are the reason that I laugh so loud. You and my joy in Jesus. I know you are with Him now and I knew the second I felt your last breath. Thank you for a lifetime of care; of fun, of guidance, and unconditional love. You are the best Dad, and I told you that many times, especially in your last 3 days with us. I love that you responded to me and knew I was by your side. I'm sorry if I kissed you too much or fussed over you too much those last days, but I needed to. Rest in Peace, Dear Sweet man whom I was so proud to have been my Father. I will love you forever!
Your loving Daughter Julie

Although I have not seen my Uncle Don in a few years, I was always very fond of him. He was such a kidder, and loved to tease...always that twinkle in his eye! We had some wonderful family times together. Sad that it has been so long. Rest in peace Uncle Don.

Bob enjoyed his guidance relationship with Don since he was a counselor up the hill in Wayland. We would purposefully stop in the store in the Ames plaza just to visit with Don. He was a sincerely friendly man and a gentle gentleman. Our sincere sympathy to the family. May God bless Don and may God bless his family.

This morning at church, there was a write-up In Memoriam in the bulletin for you...I sat alone thinking of times in church when you were sitting there too, on my left....the times you held the Hymnal upside down during a hymn, just to make me chuckle....the times I would drop a ring or a quarter and hear it roll all the way down the slanted floor under the pews to the bottom by the organ. ;)...Happy Father's Day, Daddy! <3 I miss you so.
