Obituary of Paul Frederick Sick

Dansville- Paul Frederick Sick age 64, lost a hard-fought battle with cancer and passed away at home on Tuesday evening July 22, 2014. He was born in Dansville on May 5, 1950, a son of the late Frederick and Irene (Weart) Sick. On October 23, 1971, he was married to the former Donna Mark who survives. Paul owned and operated his own heating and cooling business before his employment as Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds at Dansville Central Schools in 1988. He continued working at DCS until his retirement in 2012. Over the years, Paul enjoyed coaching young children and served as a modified basketball coach for many years as well as a coach and manager in the Dansville Little League program for 25 years. Paul was also active in the Town of Dansville Government serving on the planning board. Paul’s other joys included wood working, making things for his family, spending time with his family and friends, and vacationing with his wife. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Donna, his daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Colella, a son, Kevin (Rachele) Sick, and four beloved grandchildren, Nicholas & Sofia Colella and Mark & David Sick. Paul is also survived by his sister, Joyce (Carlton) Osborn, a brother Floyd (Shelly) Sick, brothers and sister’s in-law, Kevin (Lei) Mark, Linda (Brad) Chapman, Roger (Marleen) Mark, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Dansville Foursquare Church, 49 West Ave. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 am in St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, County Route 90 in Perkinsville. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dansville. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
