Obituary of Mary "Betty" Sauerbier

Dansville- Mary “Betty” Sauerbier age 92, passed away early Tuesday morning September 16, 2014 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was born in Groveland on March 12, 1922 a daughter of the late William and Gladys (Morris) Boyd. On April 26, 1948 she was married to Burdette “Bud” Sauerbier, who predeceased her on February 22, 2011. She was also predeceased by her siblings Clyde Boyd, Gerald Thomas Boyd, William Boyd, and sister and brother in-laws Jane Boyd, John McKay, William Mothrope, and a nephew Douglas Boyd. Betty was a long time member of the Presbyterian Church of Dansville, she enjoyed knitting and sewing in her spare time. She also spent thirty- two winters in Florida where she enjoyed playing shuffle board. She was a Town Clerk for the Town of North Dansville for many years Betty is survived by her family, Dolly Boyd of Pittsford, Donald Boyd of Dansville, Marilyn Boyd of Michigan, Sarah Jean McKay and Joyce Mothrope, both of North Carolina and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St. in Dansville, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am.
