Obituary of Kenneth Carlton Wensel

Dansville-Kenneth Carlton Wensel age 89, passed away late Monday evening June 8, 2015 at Noyes Memorial Hospital. He was born in Ossian on November 25, 1925, a son of the late Glen Guy and Mary (Nichols) Wensel. On January 18, 1947, he was married to Ardeth (Gross) Wensel, who survives. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two grandchildren, Matthew and Monica Wensel, eight siblings; La Rue (Evelyn) Wensel, Harry Wensel who died in WWII, Raymond (Dolores) Wensel, Alberta (Louis) Updike, Mildred (Charles) Lofthouse. Margaret (Donald) Soular, and Leila (Fred) Lawrence. Kenneth was a custodian for the St. Mary’s Catholic School of Dansville for over 25 years. He also worked for Kelly Brother’s Nursery. Ken was a devoted Communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary’s Church of Dansville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the New York Yankees and spending time with his family. He was WWII US Army veteran and member of the Daniel Goho Post # 87 of the American Legion. Surviving in addition to his wife Ardeth, are his children, Kenneth H (Deborah) Wensel of Carolina Shores, NC. Daniel (Christine) Wensel of Perkinsville, Steven (Patti Jo) Wensel of Cape Coral, FL. Gary Wensel of Mt. Morris, Kim (Christine) Wensel of Wayland, Patrick (Ricki) Wensel of Dansville and Sandra (Charlie Roman) Coughlin of Syracuse, fifteen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home Inc., 271 Main St. in Dansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Church in Dansville. Interment with full military honors will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville.
