Obituary of Irene Weart Sick

Irene Weart Sick age 87 passed away early Monday morning May 20, 2013, at McAuley Manor in North Hornell following a long illness. She was born in Friendship, NY on August 4, 1925, a daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Craig) Weart. On July 23, 1949, she was married to Frederick C. Sick, who predeceased her on September 4, 1995. She was also predeceased by siblings Jane Karle and Craig Weart. Irene was a member of the Graduating Class of 1943 from Friendship School; she then went on to graduate from the Geneseo State Teachers College in 1946. She taught second grade at Cuba Central School and at the Batavia School for the Blind. She was an over sixty-five year member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Perkinsville. She is survived by her children, Paul (Donna) Sick of Dansville, Joyce (Carlton) Osborn of Arkport, Floyd (Shelly) Sick of Dansville, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a sister, Frances Hubbard, a sister in-law Pauline (Roy) Lucas and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Perkinsville. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, South Dansville.
