Obituary of Barbara Carroll Nagle

Dansville - Barbara Ann (Carroll) Nagle passed away on April 7, 2016, at Strong Memorial Hospital following a lengthy Illness. Barbara was born in Hornell on September 13, 1942, the daughter of the late Edward Markham and Genevieve McRae Carroll. She was also predeceased by a sister-in-law Saskia Carroll, and brothers-in-law William and Laurence Nagle. She graduated from Hornell Senior High School in 1960, and from St. James Mercy School of X-Ray Technology, in 1962. In August of 1963 she married David Nagle at St. Ann’s Church in Hornell, NY. She then began her career at Rochester General Hospital and Dansville Memorial Hospital as an X-ray technician and later retired from The Genesee Country Express after 16 years of service as a top sales associate. She and her husband, David, were most recently honored as West Sparta's Seniorites of 2016. Barbara was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority since 1969. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, an active member of the West Sparta Planning Board, and the West Sparta Historical Society. In her spare time she enjoyed crafts, baking, and loved reading novels. In addition to her loving husband, David Nagle, she is survived by her children, Kevin (Robin Smyder) Nagle, Kathleen (Richard) Nagle-Roides, Deborah (Brian) Wager, and Amy Frances Nagle, six grandchildren, her brothers, Richard Carroll and Lawrence (Debbie) Carroll five brothers-in-law, Robert (Carol Lee), John (Kathy), Paul (Sheila), Michael (Donna), and Richard, Jr., (Laurie); a sister-in-law, Mary Therese (Douglas) Sick, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday April 10, 2016, from 1:00-5:00pm at the Hindle Funeral Home Inc., 271 Main St. Dansville NY, 14437. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday April 11, 2016, at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 43 Elizabeth St. Dansville. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dansville.
