Mrs. MacDonald, Stacy, Geoff Rick and family: I was so saddened to hear about the death of Mr. MacDonald. He was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather, and I know he will be missed. Most of my best memories of him relate to food. His home fries at the camp ground were delicious, and his pork steak was my all time favorate. My funniest story was when I attempted to trade the favor and make something good for him to eat. Remember the crab cakes? It did not work out so well, but he was gracious. He tried to explain to me that the taste did not suit him, but I could not understand how anyone could NOT like crab cakes. Then it became clear -- he had never had crab cakes before and did not know that they needed to be cooked. When he told us he ate the crab cakes raw, I laughed until I cried. He never would try out the cooked version.
Mr. MacDonald's love for people, animals and life was contagious. I know it has been some time since I have seen most of you, but my thoughts and prayers have been with you all through this difficult time. I am so sorry to each of you for the loss you have suffered and I pray that the wonderful memories will sustain you.
Best regards,
Janet
