Obituary of Enid Christine Mitchell

Dansville- Enid Christine Mitchell age 66, passed away early Wednesday morning July 20, 2016, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. She was born in Ludlow, MA on January 14, 1950, a daughter of the late John Thomas and Lorraine Muriel (Bolduc) Katsanos. On October 3, 1969, she married Keith Mitchell who survives. Enid graduated from Newark High School in 1968. She worked for Craig, later Finger Lakes, DDSO for over 35 years. While working at Craig she was able to pursue nursing training and received her RN. During her time in state service she was very active with the PEF union and served in various positions including Statewide Pac Chair. After retiring she was a scrapbooking consultant and assisted many in the area to preserve their memories. She served on the Board of Directors for the Clara Barton Chapter 1 of the American Red Cross in Dansville and was instrumental in coordinating their annual golf tournament for 9 years. But most of all she enjoyed spoiling her granddaughter and great granddaughters. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years Keith, her children, Heather (Karthik Anumalasetty) Mitchell of Dansville, and Scott Mitchell (Diana VanderBurgh) of Avon, her brothers, Tom (Janet) Katsanos of NJ, Steve (Diane Stelzner) Katsanos of MD, a sister, Gail (John) Snyder of NJ, sisters in law Barbara (David) Thorsen of Cayuga, Virginia (Jim) Knapp of IA, a granddaughter, Amanda (Henry) O’Neal, great granddaughters, Shirley, Shayli, Lorraine O’Neal of Wayland. The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff at URMC and the Wilmot Cancer Center for the excellent care they provided for Enid. A celebration of life will be held on September 24, 2016 at 10:30am at the Dansville Four Square Church. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville.
