Obituary of Albert Hardies

Dansville- Albert M. Hardies age 82, formerly of Rochester passed away Monday afternoon July 29, 2013, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville after a long illness. He was born in Rochester on March 23, 1931, the son of the late Albert R. and Helen S. (Kieffer) Hardies. He was also predeceased by three grandchildren, Jacob, Kara and Nicholas Hardies, and a sister Elaine Bartell. On June 25, 1955, he was married to Nancy Burke Hardies who survives. Albert was a US Marine Corps. Veteran serving during the Korean War from 1950-1952. He was a graduate of Edison Tech, and RIT. He was retired from the Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester where he worked as Mechanical Engineer. He was a member of the Rochester Turner's Club, was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending winters in Lake Placid Florida with his dear wife Nancy. Surviving in addition to his wife Nancy, are his children; Debra (Truman Gleason) Hardies of Atlanta, NY, A. Scott Hardies of San Diego, CA, Kelly (Dean) Whitcher of Rush, NY and Jeffrey (Kimberly Gerken) Hardies of Brockport, NY; grandchildren, Adam (Michal Williams) Cunningham, Becca and Torry Whitcher, and Jared Hardies. Nancy's family, David (Marie) Burke, Richard (Jeanne) Burke and Carolyn Burke. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville.
