Dick and Helen were our neighbors and friends for many years. Dick was always a helpful pleasant friend, with a ready smile and laugh! We were honored to have lived next door to the Maichles!

Dear Michele,
Take comfort in knowing that your Dad is at peace and celebrating his reunion with your Mom, his brothers, including my Dad, his sisters, and his beloved parents! We will miss him here on earth because he was such a good guy and a wonderful uncle with a great sense of humor who always made us feel at home when we visited Dansville.
And he will be with you always. Just call on him, look for the signs, and he'll be there.
My prayers are with you and your Dad, and our whole family, as we send our love and wish him well on his new journey.
Love,
Cousin Helene

Uncle Dick was good man; I never heard him say an unkind word about anyone. He was a wonderful brother to my Dad, picking him up at 5:50 every morning to go for coffee with the guys at McDonalds. They each often tried to get through the door first as soon as it was unlocked, so they could pay for each other's coffee.
After Dad moved to the assisted living facility up in Henrietta, Uncle Dick faithfully drove up every week to visit. Neither of them was a big talker, but I know how much having his company meant to my Dad. He did the same for his sisters Marge and Sybil, regardless of how bad the weather was.
I remember how much he loved roast beef (NOT corned beef!) hash, and baby sardines on saltine crackers -- and surprisingly an occasional practical joke. When I visited my Dad in Dansville, the 3 of us used to go to the truck stop for breakfast after coffee at McDonalds. My favorite breakfast was waffles, until the TA corporate office discontinued them, to my disappointment. A few months later, we walked into the truck stop and I saw a sign on the table for "Waffles"! I was so pleased, until Uncle Dick said he had brought the sign over from another restaurant and put it there to fool me. Ever since then we shared this running joke.
I hope Uncle Dick and my Dad are together now, contentedly having coffee, probably not saying a whole lot, and looking down at us. I will miss him.....my heart goes out to Michele, who will miss him more than anyone.
Lynn

I'm at a complete loss of words, to have loss a great person as well as a patient. I enjoyed taking care of him everyday. I will miss the laughs we shared and him calling me his jellybean and occasionally Jesus Christ.;)
