Obituary of Paul F. Black Sr.
Dansville- Paul F. "Pork" Black Sr., age 87, passed away Tuesday afternoon August 8, 2017, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville after a long illness.
He was born in Perkinsville, NY on April 24, 1930, the son of the late Paul Duncan and Mildred (Hower) Black. He was also predeceased by a sister Virginia Treat. On December 19, 1953, he was married to the former Anne Van Derwerken, who survives.
Paul was a US Navy Korean veteran serving on the USS Columbus. He was employed at Eastman Kodak Company as a Senior Product Designer, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Frank J. Casbolt Post 6780 of the VFW and the Daniel Goho Post # 87 of the American Legion where he was active with the firing squad. He was a communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Paul was a member of the Dansville Area Historical Society. He was a Village of Dansville Justice for several years.
Paul is survived by his wife Anne, children, Amanda (Ronald) Schuster, Paul (Sandy) Black Jr., Elizabeth Black, Alison (David) Knights and James (Patricia) Black, a sister, Sister Camille Marie, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St. Dansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Interment with full military honors will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville.
