Sparta- Douglas C. Fugle age 75, passed away late Friday evening October 20, 2017, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville following a short illness.

He was born in Canandaigua on August 14, 1942, a son of the late Carl and Eleanor (Schwingle) Fugle. On August 27, 1966, he was married to the former Joanne Moose Fugle, who survives.

Doug was a owner operator truck driver for many years. A veteran of the US Army serving from 1962 to 1965. He was a member of the Sparta Center United Methodist Church, a former member of the Sparta Center Fire Department, the Teamsters, and the Loyal Order of the Moose in Dansville.

He is survived by his wife Joanne, a son, Jeff Fugle of VA, three grandchildren, Riley and Regan Hoch and Reece Fugle, two sisters, Charlotte (Jerry) Barber of Geneseo, Sharon (Jerry) Hamsher of Arkport, two brothers, Richard (Regina) Fugle of VA and Gary (Gail) Fugle of SC, a brother in-law James (Mary Kay) Moose also of VA, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday October 28, at the Sparta Center United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Bath National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville. Online remembrances may be left HindleFuneralHome.com.
