Obituary of Norman Stephen Fay Jr.
Avon/Dansville- Norman Stephen Fay Jr., age 82, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday morning June 19, 2018, at the Alpine Manor Nursing Home in Lima.
He was born in Hammondsport on February 29, 1936, the son of the late Norman S. and Wilma (Longwell) Fay Sr. He was also predeceased by a sister Jean Shepherd. On November 17, 1976, he was married to Esther Rose Hinds Fay, who survives.
Norman was a US Army veteran serving from 1954 to 1957. He was an ordained Baptist Minister serving many parishes in the area, beginning at the Grace Baptist Church in Dansville, he was an area wide pulpit supply pastor serving many congregations in Western NY. He was retired from Craig Colony at Sonyea where he was a mental hygienist and RN for over twenty five years. In his free time he enjoyed reading about and studying WWII. He was also active in Bible study and writing a novel on his Saviors teachings of the word of God.
Surviving in addition to his wife Esther are their children, Marilyn (Aaron) Blumer of WI, Michelle (Mark) Bleakley of LA, Dale (Cindy) Beeman IL, Bonnie Black of Groveland, Donna Welch of Geneseo, Isabella (Dan) Lowrey of Ossian, nineteen grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 23, at 11:00 am at the Ossian Center Presbyterian Church. Interment with Full Military honors will be in Westview Cemetery in Ossian.
