Obituary of Robert E. Schramm

Robert "Bob" E. Schramm, age 72, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning July 2, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. Bob is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pamela Schramm (Beckerman), of West Sparta, his sons Erik Raser-Schramm (Jonathan) and Matthew Schramm (Nicholas), daughter Kathleen Powell (Jesse), sister Regina Murray (David), grandchildren; Liam, Finn, Isaac, Elijah, Athena, and many other family and friends. Bob is preceded in death by his father, Frank Schramm, mother Mary Schramm, and brother Martin Schramm. Bob was born in December 11, 1947 in Trossenfurt Germany. He graduated from Dansville Senior High School in 1968 and married Pamela in 1975. After a full and very successful career in farming, Bob spent 17 years working for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Bob's favorite place was outdoors and that's where you could always find him hunting, fishing, working in his garden, or simply spending time on his deck with family and friends enjoying the beautiful views and wildlife of his beloved homestead. As a husband, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend to many, Bob shared his love for life by always sharing and giving. From hunting techniques, cooking German recipes in the kitchen, the proper way to care for land, how to grow a garden or run a business, he was always a patient teacher.
