Obituary of Thelma Charlotte Shaver

Scottsburg- Thelma C. Shaver age 88, formerly of Scottsburg, passed away early Friday morning March 28, 2008, at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton California. She was born in Utica, NY on September 12, 1919, a daughter of the late Frank and Charlotte Brewer Thompson. On December 17, 1938, she was married to Leo (Lee) Shaver who predeceased her on October 8, 1990. She was also predeceased by siblings, Francis, Laverne and Genevieve Thompson and a sister in-laws, Bernice Thompson, Gertrude Thompson and Leona Thompson. Thelma was a former member of the Scottsburg United Methodist Church. She had worked at the Blum Shoe Factory in Dansville, for fifteen years. She was an attendant at Craig Developmental Center in Sonyea for several years retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Kate J. Jackson Court of Amaranth and the CSEA. Thelma is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Bill) Carr of FL. Four grandchildren, Todd Nielson of Cortland, Joy (David) Lanfranchi of La Habra Heights, CA, Sharon (Les) Nameth of Pleasant Valley and Christine (Kevin) Post of Hyde Park, four great-grandsons, Matthew and Justin Nameth, Eric Nielson, and Michael Lanfranchi, three great granddaughters, Kayla Nielson, Rachel Lanfranchi, and MaryElla Post. A sister Gloria (Michael) Salem of Dansville, two brothers, Robert (Annaliese) Thompson of Conesus, and John Thompson of Dansville. Several nieces nephews cousins and friends. Friends may call Wednesday 4 to 7 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. A funeral service will be held in the Scottsburg United Methodist Church on Thursday at 10:00am with the Rev. David Hotchkiss officiating. Interment will be next to Lee in Union Cemetery, Scottsburg.
