I first knew Anne when working at the Old Dansville Hospital. She had such a fun loving warmth about her. Later she was one of the founding Cursillo weekly small group members I belonged to and have uninterruptedly continued to this day. We (the continuing group) all knew Anne well. When Anne was living in Fl. there was less laughter and lightheartedness in the community. When she moved back the 'flame' within Anne continued to shine and lesson the darkness for others.

Jean and Mary I remember your Mom as a visiting friend through social services. She was always so kind to our people. Also her mom certainly had some fun times over the years. My best to you all. Karen Beierschmitt

I remember my first overnight, away from home - at the VanDurme house. Lots of fun, laughter, singing. In the morning, after breakfast everyone was helping with dishes and cleaning. I started to dry the silverware and Mrs. VanDurme said, "you don't have to do that, just put it in the drawer". To this day, if I'm in a rush, I'll do that at my house, letting go of any stress. Also, after that, someone was washing the floor. I think it was hardwood and we all put on socks and skidded across the floor to dry and shine it. Such fun! I will always remember both Mrs and Mr VanDurme and their family - the kindness, smiles and jokes. Colleen Goodwin Vogel

I remember when I moved back to Dansville and rejoined St. Mary’s that Anne would always be so joyful while singing! She brought so much happiness to those around her. She will be missed here on earth but I know she was full of love and light as she met her maker and reunited with Nick! Condolences, blessing, and love to her family ❤️

I can’t even count the number of times I walked in the side door of the Van Durme house, and sat down to supper, or found a bed to sleep in, and spent the night. Anne was a second mother in my life, teaching Clare and I to crochet, taking us to get our ears pierced, driving us around to whatever activity we were into at the time. She gave the best advice, and was generous with her love and hugs. Anne, tell Nick I miss him too, please.
