Obituary of Lana Mae Hussey-Abbott

She was born in the Town of Gerry, NY on October 27, 1922, a daughter of the late Mead Fargo and Alta Miller Ostrander. She was also predeceased by her husbands, George R. Hussey and Hoyt L. Abbott. Lana lived in Frewsburg, NY and Morgan Estates Assisted Living Facility in Geneseo before moving to the Livingston County CNR. She was a member of the Frewsburg Study Club, the Sunnybrook Rebekah Lodge # 507, and the Levant Cemetery Society. She was an avid golfer, bowler, gardener and reader. Lana is survived by her children, Beverly Alana (Frank) Hussey-Weaselhead of Sumpter OR, and G. Robert (Nancy) Hussey of Highland Ave. in Dansville. A sister Beverly (Jim) Olson Oste of Frewsburg and Ovieda FL. Two grandsons, Robert M.(Wendy)Hussey of Camillus, NY, and Mark D. (Kim)Hussey of Holden, MA, Four great-grandchildren, Melanie, Joseph and Claire Hussey of Camillus and Tyler Hussey of Holden, a niece, Jennifer Olson and nephews, Gary (Anne) Scott and Craig Olson. A private service was held at the Hindle Funeral Home Inc., 271 Main St., in Dansville. A public memorial service will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church in Frewsburg at a date and time to be announced. Interment will be in Levant Cemetery, in the Town of Poland, NY. In lieu of flowers friends may make memorial contributions to the Clara Barton Chapter # 1 of the American Red Cross, 57 Elizabeth St., Dansville, NY 14437.
