Growing up in Canaseraga I met Jeanne as a member of the ladies bridge club my mother also belonged to, and got to know her thru her involvement with Bluebird and Camp Fire Girls. I loved her accent and her refined ways that as a little girl I concluded was how everyone in England acted and sounded. My life long interest in all things British started with her. . I have been fortunate to make a number of trips to England, and every time I think of Jeanne. I credit her with sparking my interest in international travel when I was just a little girl. She, Sharon and Stacey would pack wonderful suitcases covered with travel stickers and take a ship across the ocean to England. Even before I knew what or where England was or what an “ocean crossing” meant, I wanted to go too. She was a lovely person.
