Dear Sheri and Family,
So sorry for the loss of your special husband, father, grandpa. He has been a friend of mine since we were in first grade back in 1952. He must have been very special to you. His humor was always in play. Think of him often so he will always be close to your hearts.

Colossians 3:12-17 Compassion, Love, Kindness
A bit of family history that you might not know:
Evelyn Whiteman and Ruth L. Smith shared birthing together at the old Dansville Hospital. Both ladies shared with each other how much they loved the name David. It was decided that both of their to be born boys would share the name, David. I now wonder of the "W"? I am David W. too. My "W" is for William / my grandfather Smith. David's W was for ??? Thanks. The Whiteman's and the Smith's were both in the grocery business in Dansville. Every now and then my father would say, David go down to Vince's place and get... as we were out of a product that we needed at "Smith's Market" (store was where the town clock stands...). David and I were friends all through our school years too. Last time I saw Dave was at the Masonic Lodge where he was tending to chickens / BBQ / Dogwood Days. David was a fine man and friend that I will always remember.
I think we both were lover's of Jesus too. I attend Asbury UMC in Rochester where I will offer up his and your family during our prayer time.
David W. Smith, 2/24/1944
