Just two weeks ago I stopped at covered wagon tours and talked to Dave Parmley and was asking about Burt as I had been a part-time tour bus driver there when Burt was also driving. Being a retired trooper we had alot in common. We were on several trips together and he was a super guy that made a long day driving enjoyable with laughs and stories. Being a new driver at the time, Burt was always more than willing to help me out with driving tips.I never forgot his kindness and was very sorry to read on line this evening in the Hornell paper of his passing. God Bless.

Sending you my deepest sympathies. Some of my fondest memories are from the time we lived in Ossian "just down the road" from you. We were so fortunate to be included into your family. Burt was a busy man always on the go. I would see him all over. In his uniform at a parade, driving a bus...you never knew where you would see him! It is hard to lose the the ones that you love, but if you watch for them..they will let you know they are still with you. May love and comfort be yours during the days ahead and know we are including you in our prayers. Lots of love, Tracy

Crystal, Dean, and all of my Brokaw family,
Iam so sorry about Burton's passing. He always made the family renions out in Ossian fun. He even helped this Halloween Fool out of a spot when I got in over my head in a tomato fight. It was GREAT having family with a badge tha night in Livonia. It's been a rough few years for our family but we are tough and will endure with lots of tears and smiles, just like Burton did. Prayers and love to all from the South Canisteo Thomas's
