Dad I have many special memories but the one that comes uppermost in my mind is the the fathers day I wrote you a poem and the big smile it brought to your face and that special hug it went like this
"though you were not there in the beginning ...I think you showed up in about the third inning.. Being a father to you was an all new game ...but you did a hell of a job all the same ..raising two daughters isn't always a bunch of fun ..this is true but you should be proud of the job you helped mother do and on this special day I want to thank you for even loving me back when I knew more than you" when I left you yesterday and told you I was leaving special angels with you to guide you home were there will be no more pain my heart was heavy but I knew you were in the very best hands rest in peace my very special father Patty

So many memories of Grandpa, yet I am at a loss for words to sum them up. Your character and quick wit was enjoyed by everyone, you were always ready with a cute diddy. That smile & little chuckle of yours was the signature at the end of each story. You touched the lives of so many, asking nothing in return.
You were always a ray of sunshine no matter the circumstance.
Memories of you will be with me forever.....RIGHT!
THE MEASURE OF A MAN
Author: Anonymous
Not - How did he die? But - How did he live?
Not - What did he gain? But - What did he give?
These are the things that measure the worth
Of a man as a man, regardless of birth.
Not - What was his station? But - had he a heart?
And - How did he play his God-given part?
Was he ever ready with a word of good cheer?
To bring back a smile, to banish a tear?
Not - What was his church? Not - What was his creed?
But - Had he befriended those really in need?
Not - What did the sketch in the newspaper say?
But - How many were sorry when he passed away?
These are the things that measure the worth
Of a man as a man, regardless of birth.
I love you Grandpa!

What a truly special and sweet man Ralph was. My friend since I was a very young girl...I'm so glad I was able to see him and laugh with him back in September. I treasure the wonderful memories. I will always love you, Ralph! <3
