Obituary of Ralph Pearl Freas

Dansville - Ralph P. Freas age 92, formerly of Dansville passed away early Saturday morning October 27, 2012, at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell after an extended illness. He was born in Dansville on December 4, 1919, a son of the late Charles and Nina (Hunt) Freas. He was also predeceased by a son Raymond Nelson Freas, son in-law John Alise and siblings, Sophie Potter, Frank, Charles, Quinny, Clarence, and Casper Freas, Nina Kennedy, Ida Perkins, and Rosie Marie Draper. On December 26, 1953, he was married to Lois (Fisk) Freas, who survives. Ralph was a US Army WWII veteran and member of the Daniel Goho Post # 87, the Frank J. Casbolt # 6780 VFW Post, and the Moose Club all of Dansville. He was a longtime faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Dansville. He was employed for the Village of Dansville Water and Sewer Department retiring in 1983. Surviving in addition to his wife Lois of Hornell, are two daughters, Pat (Paul Patterson) Alise of West Sparta and Sheron (Fordman) Hurlbut of Arkport, a sister Rosemary Hugic of PA, six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday from 10:00 to 12:00 noon at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 21 Clara Barton St. in Dansville, where a funeral service will be held at the completion of calling hours.
