Obituary of Gladys A. Weber

Sparta- Gladys A. Weber age 92, formerly of the Sparta- Springwater Town Line Rd., passed away Monday afternoon November 8, 2010, at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris where she had been a resident for the past few years. She was born in Bristol, NY, on June 10, 1918, a daughter of the late Robert and Cora (Allen) Drayn. On December 20, 1939, she was married to DeMerle Weber, who predeceased her on December 16, 1993. She was also predeceased by her son in-law, Ronald Didas, a granddaughter Cathy Didas, siblings, Esther Drayn, Eliza Miller, Blanche Youngblood, Emery, John and William Drayn. Gladys was a nurse at the former Dansville Memorial Hospital for thirty years. She was also a former tax collector for the Town of Sparta and had worked for G.C. Murphy Company of Dansville. She was a Foster Grandparent at St. Mary's School in Dansville for several years. She was a member of the Sparta Center United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, the Wayland Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Home Bureau and the King's Daughters and Son's Home of Dansville. She is survived by a daughter, Boneta Didas of Somerset, NJ, a son, Clark (Teresa) Weber of Sparta. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a brother in-law Edwin Losey of Dansville. Friends may call Friday from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Hindle Funeral Home Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville, and Saturday from 9:30 am to 11:00am at the Sparta Center United Methodist Church, where services will be held at 11:00am with the Rev. James Stevens officiating. Interment will be in Rogersville Forest Lawn Cemetery, South Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
